CLAIM: Ian Wilson believes he has found missing flight MH370(PIC: GOOGLE)

THE SEARCH for missing flight MH370 was this month rocked by an astonishing claim the jet has been spotted in Cambodia – and now Daily Star Online can introduce the man behind it.

Ian Wilson, 37, was suffering from a bout of insomnia two years ago when he opened his laptop and delved into the world of Google Maps.

Lying next to his fiancee, Sarah Barry, the hairs on the back of his neck "stood up" when he spotted a mysterious white outline in Cambodia.

He told Daily Star Online: "I was up all night.

"I was having real trouble sleeping, and when I eventually came across that plane it was really surreal, the hairs stood on the back of my neck."

Wilson – who'd used Google Maps professionally in his job as a video producer for 10 years – was instantly convinced he'd cracked the MH370mystery.

Only a few nights earlier, the lifelong Camden resident watched a documentary on Varig Flight 254 that crashed into the Amazon jungle in 1989.
