Katy Perry and Lin-Manuel Miranda tweet support for gun violence protesters

Katy Perry and Lin-Manuel Miranda are among the stars who took to social media on Wednesday (14Mar18) to show their support for students protesting gun violence in the U.S. Students in America walked out of their classes to protest gun violence in schools following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last month (Feb18), and Perry, Miranda and many others were with them in spirit. "On the one-month anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, students are walking out in protest of Congress' failure to act on gun violence," Perry wrote, adding, "Let's support them, and the March to Washington DC in ten days #MarchForOurLives," referring to the upcoming rally in America's capital on 24 March (18). "We see you, kids, and we're with you," Miranda added. Josh Gad, whose friend lost a son in last month's Florida tragedy, also chimed in with his support, writing: "So unbelievably proud of these students. So blown away by their unstoppable energy and their devotion to hold our legislators accountable. They are not going away, but those officials who do nothing to reform gun laws, most certainly will be."
