Your guess is few years?" That's weird. First thing I learn about any language I intend to learn is sentence structure, some hints that would help me decipher "#$%^&*()" into "something somehow done something to something". Then you just start reading/listening and look up what different "something"s mean. So when I start learning I usually can piece words from a dictionary into most common sentences in a few months. I just lack vocabulary and practice with less popular sentence structures to actually speak/understand quickly in that time. Few years from then have me speaking it almost freely. ...Although... I guess if you just want to be able to communicate ASAP and don't care about quality you can start by just memorizing lots of words and substitute lack of structure with gestures... ...but then again it would be weird if you haven't learnt to put them into valid sentences in a few years of constant use. Reply zxwm Abcdef zxwm Abcdef2 months ago It might be easier for a native english speaker to learn japanese than the other way around. Japanese is actually a simple language it only has 46 syllables while english has hundreds. Reply 12 View all 8 replies Krusty Krevice Krusty Krevice1 month ago 9:33 "Don't make me...hungry.
